Taylor Fletcher is an open wheel racing veteran with more than ten years of racing experience. Like many aspiring Indy Car drivers, karting provided the basic skills that were later sharpened at the world famous Skip Barber Racing School . Fletcher's driving skills were also perfected through the Formula Ford, Formula Dodge open wheel programs in 1995 as well as the highly esteemed Russell School of high performance driving. In 1996 Taylor Fletcher began participating in the Pro Formula Mazda series as well as achieving numerous podium finishes in National and Regional Formula Mazda races. In 1998 he achieved second place honors for the season competing in the National Auto Sports Association FM class. In 1998 Fletcher finished second in points in the SCCA National Formula Atlantic Divisional Standings. He also completed the 1999 SCCA series and won the Championship for the Southern Pacific Regional Championship Series encompassing California , Arizona and Nevada . By continuing to run national and Pro Formula Mazda races from 2000 through 2002, Fletcher achieved numerous wins and podium finishes on oval and road course tracks. Fletcher also adds track records to his credit at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Willow Springs Raceway, and Buttonwillow raceway.
Taylor Fletcher then graduated to higher horsepower Indy cars as well as focusing on ovals with the Pan American Indy Car series, which runs a series between Argentina, Latin America, and the United States including oval tracks such as Pikes Peak.
Fletcher consistently ran in the top five for the oval track events in the 550-horsepower/ Lola chassis. He also garnered a third place finish in the USAC Russell Triple Crown oval series in 2001. Taylor Fletcher began testing Indy Cars within the Indy Racing League series in 2001 and 2002 with the intent to participate with a full time effort in the IRL and/or the Infiniti Pro Series. In 2003 Fletcher tested an Infiniti Pro Series Car with Sam Schmidt Motorsports, and later signed a contract to finish the 2003 season with the team. The primary goal is to continue this effort in the Infiniti Pro Series and the Indy Racing League for the 2004 and 2005 seasons, as well as continuing to race in other series as time permits.
Driver Taylor Fletcher and the entire team also actively promote the childrens charity programs and outreach ministries of World Vision, Olive Crest foundation, and IRL Ministries. Raising money and promoting worthwhile charities has long been a passion for Fletcher with the ultimate goal of having a positive impact on the racing community and making a difference in peoples lives.
